I believe a most important and sacred responsibility of our armed forces, and elected and appointed officials is to do all in their power to protect our soldiers from unnecessary harm, to assist them and their families when they are wounded in any fashion, and, when our soldiers make the ultimate sacrifice of their lives in defense of our country and its principles, to respect their civic rights to a thorough, complete investigation of all evidence obtained regarding the circumstances of their deaths, regardless of the consequences any findings may have on any person or branch of our government. Colonel Michael Stahlman had an outstanding career as a Marine JAG officer, and was well-respected by many who knew him. He and his family deserve the investigation of his death to be reopened and all evidence accurately and honestly evaluated by the proper authorities, as do any members of our military, whose deaths occurred under questionable circumstances, and their surviving families. Unless and until this happens for my cousin, my opinion of the high integrity of the United States Marine Corps and the system of military justice in this country to which he devoted his life has been most severely diminished.REPORT COMMENTS

Mike and Kim made extensive plans to build a home for their family for Mike was soon to retire.This future was shattered when someone entered his room in Iraq and shot him in the head. It was obviously a homecide. Our families deserve and are owed justice. Mike ,with Kim at his side, served his country with an exemplary record. As the mother of a Marine currently serving in Afghanistan, I am concerned about the lack of attention being paid to Kimberly Stahlman and her attempts to bring her mounting evidence toward a finding of homicide rather than suicide in the death of her husband, Colonel Michael Ross Stahlman. I am shocked that Sen. Lindsey Graham is ignoring Mrs. Stahlman's requests for a meeting and hope that he and his staff will see fit to hear what this grieving widow has learned since their previous review of the case. My prayers go out to the Mrs. Stahlman and the rest of the family of Col. Colonel Michael Ross Stahlman.
