I am appalled how the Chinese government can allow this abhorrent treatment of animals. Some of my friends are not even able to look at the pictures or videos, to this I say we MUST look and more important ACT to IMMEDIATELY STOP THIS ATROCITY. As a Jewish woman, refuse to look the other way but vow to fight by whatever means necessary to stop the cruelty to animals. I am returning all merchandise made in China, particularly leather goods, not taking any chances eating Chinese food. Food animals should a) not be stolen pets, b) be disease free to limit health risk, and c) be granted quick and humane slaughter. It is clear that the Chinese government does not regard the Yulin festival as inhumane or unhealthy, despite hundreds of thousands of people, both Chinese and foreign, who respectfully sign petitions and attend demonstrations in protest of these barbaric events, or who mourn the theft of their family pet, or even those who contract rabies. China must be strongly encouraged by outside governments to enact and enforce basic human and animal welfare laws, if they wish to continue benefiting from international trade and foster tourism. We go out of our way to avoid purchasing products made in China and I entreat all petition readers to do the same. Thank you.REPORT COMMENTS
