Taking a live dog and cutting off its feet, systematically blowtorching areas of its body and beating it with metal pipes for up to 40 minutes is a daily normal activity throughout Asia which takes the lives of over 30 million dogs annually. Studies have shown that every single serial killer abused and tortured an animal. Our proud country should not do business with or have any type of relationship with countries that are full of violent serial killers. Furthermore, this activity is directly related to theft, human and drug trafficking and poses great health risks. Our dogs provide military service, K-9 protection, bomb and drug sniffing, seizure and insulin detection, sight for the blind, search and rescue, therapy dogs for autistic and ptsd, and the list goes on. Please, I urge you to do everything possible to end this barbaric, extremely violent, and ultimately senseless torture and slaughter of dogs throughout Asia. House Resolution 752 is a good first step in a global problem that needs an immediate strong global action. This is becoming a humanitarian issue and spilling across borders. Now is the time for our the United States Federal Government to do protect the rights of man and beast. This activity and industry is simply unacceptable anywhere in the world. Thank you. -

I am so outraged! First and foremost, I believe that dogs and cats are extremely conscious animals. They are intelligent creatures. I do not understand the desire to consume these animals. But I am even more appalled at the suffering that these animals go through. I could not bare watching the videos that appear all over the Internet. I forced myself to view two of them before I could stand no more. It made me want to vomit. I could not erase the images from my mind for weeks. Why and how could a human being do this to an animal crying out in excruciating pain? How can a human being have no conscious? Hitting dogs over the head with bats one after another? Picking up the still breathing dogs by their rear legs and slashing their stomachs with knives? Skinning them alive? Using gas torches to cook the barely alive dogs or tossing them into a large pot of scalding hot water? All this as the dogs desperatly try to escape or try to cling to life?
