Common sense and regard for what is truly best for the animals we're responsible for, even if that means humane harvesting, must be protected.REPORT COMMENTS

There are people out there who do abuse animals and they should be punished but the majority of people are good people and those who attack them such as PETA need to be stopped I will guarantee that those PETA people would stand by and watch a child be beat and do nothing but let it be an animal and they want to take everyones animals. We need laws that are enforced. If a good person would try to defend themselves against these idiots they are punished but the idiots are patted on the back.REPORT COMMENTS

We, as livestock producers, must be protected from the abuse by animals "rights" groups, and we must also have the right to manage our livestock, whether it is cattle or horses, in a business-like and private way. Humane processing of horses is part of that management and must be an option for horse owners.REPORT COMMENTS

Apr 18th, 2012Someone from Solway, MN writes:
Humane slaughter is not cruelty. Let us focus our attention on folks who are not caring appropriately for their livestock and pets. If we turn our backs on designing humane horse slaughter protocols and facilities we are only serving to support those who are not treating, transporting and slaughtering the horses humanely. It is not a crime to slaughter a horse. It is unethical to allow it to continue inhumanely. Eliminating the inhumane treatment of animals does not include the inhumane treatment of humans.REPORT COMMENTS

What we face here is the continuous assault against the rural western heritage. The denial of private property, unfair media coverage, harassment, putting bounties on them, and all the other ridiculous crap the anti-ranching goons do to attack ranchers.REPORT COMMENTS
