My husband died on March 30, 2007. I was still in shock after 3 days and not even close to functioning. We need to respect the grief process & give people more time to heal.REPORT COMMENTS

This should not even need a debate, anyone who has ever lost someone close to them should see that this is common sense. Any doctor would fill out the paper work to put them on disability, but someone in extreme grief may not be thinking that their first thought should be to go to a doctor to do paperwork for their job.REPORT COMMENTS

I lost my husband at only 42 years old. The thought of having to return to work was more than I could do. Luckily, I had an employer who supported me. Please give this support to anyone loosing their life partner, it is devastating!REPORT COMMENTS

I am a widow and thankfully (weird I know) my hubby died in the summer and I was off of work for a month and a half. Had I not been there was no way I could have worked. I was in a daze even when I went back that late after his death.REPORT COMMENTS
