In 1928 the USA lead the effort after World War 1 to condemn recourse to war for the solution of international controversies, and renounce it, as an instrument of national policy in their relations with one another. They agreed that the settlement or solution of all disputes or conflicts of whatever nature or of whatever origin they may be, which may arise among them, shall never be sought except by pacific means. We must find our way "back to the pact" before we get into future wars, world wars or even nuclear wars.
Whereas had the simple pact been adhered to we would never have had all the wars since 1928. We must make a comprehensive effort in our generation, with the capabilities we have now with the advent of the Internet, the establishment of the United Nations, the establishment of the International Criminal Court, with the modern technology, and the risk to all life on Earth of nuclear war or nuclear accident to call for a global truce and a global cease fire. We must be successful at this effort at gaining the consensus of all nation's leaders and all armed forces, combatants and militant organizations within all nations for a global truce and a global cease fire now
