URGENT: Demand the VA honor their commitment to fund veterans choosing a career in flight training!

Veterans are being forced to come up with an insurmountable amount of money in an impossible amount of time to fund a program in which they have ALREADY been CERTIFIED and ENROLLED.

On July 27th, 2016, veteran students in Arizona were verbally informed by Yavapai College that in three weeks? time, they would be required to personally pay for the flight training they had previously been certified for by the VA and enrolled in by the college. By telling the college that funding for flight training will be restricted, the Department of Veterans Affairs is violating US Code (Title 38, Section 3313). No official regulation for this restriction exists.

The VA has reinterpreted the rules for flight students. Failure to correct this situation will cause extreme financial and personal hardship. Veteran Students have entered and been CERTIFIED by the VA into a degree program that now has no hope to finish with most of their benefits exhausted. Veterans are being discriminated against based on their height and weight, unjustly forcing them to independently fund their flight training. The benefits of previously certified students must be grandfathered, allowing them to complete their degree.
