U.S. CONGRESS, DEMAND FACEBOOK STOP THE TARGETING OF HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVISTS AND UNJUST ACTIONS AGAINST US!
Dear Representatives and Senators,
For some time, Facebook has been singling out Pro-Palestinian Human Rights Defenders, Informational media outlets, Groups, and Organizations, censoring our posts, harassing us with punitive actions such as declaring our posts spam, saying our posts go against their "community standards", limiting our ability to share our call-to-action events in support of human rights, rendering us unable to join the groups we may wish to join, banning us, unjustly removing content and closing accounts when these actions are not warranted or justified.
In many cases, specific information vital to understanding the supposed offense is not given.
There are grave first amendment issues here and our rights are being violated on a daily basis. As Human Rights Defenders we speak out against violations of human rights and assaults on human dignity. We have the right to criticize, protest, inform, boycott and take any other non-violent form of expression we choose.
Particularly troubling is the attempt by Facebook and the Pro-Israel lobby to squelch any legitimate criticism of Israel. To speak out and act against gross violations of human rights by the Israeli government and its military against the indigenous Palestinian Arab population IS NOT being anti-Semitic!
It IS being humane, moral and ethical.
We. as individuals and/or collectively, will not go quietly in the night! We will RAGE and FIGHT against the dying of the light and the usurping of our constitutional rights!
We petition our representatives in the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate to immediately act to stop this injustice!
