The spouses are frauds of non-skilled workers from India who are replacing the U.S graduates
If you are a IT professional you will feel the pain first hand. Some of my first-hand observation and experience are as follows.
1. The Indian H1B is already filled with non-qualified people who has qualification from an accredited Universities in India, and most of the time they do not have education in the relevant fields. And they suck at jobs, but for companies, they are cheap labor.
2. The H1B do not respect labor laws.
a. they will work any number of hours, since they are mostly singles, and Six of them stay in one room, and no social life. But an American professional who had put in money, sweat, and time to achieve academic excellence in U.S would expect a decent quality of life for their effort and live a dignified life. Indians are used to Sweat shop mentality and disrupting the essence that is part and parcel of the American life. Companies take advantage of this situation, and killing the would be future engineers in America. Why put your effort and become a professional if you can't have a good life? Lot of times, weighting table is a better option now for American workers than engineering
3. H4 ead entering the force mostly do not possess skills. They are coached by their spouses to lie about the experienced and how to face interviews. Lot of times the spouses themselves coach during Phone interviews. When these H4 gets hired they don't do the work. The spouses do the actual work because the H4 themselves don't have any experience or skills to do the job. Furthermore, the H1Bs set up interviews with their or own company where they are working or set up friends who are working in other companies to hire their non-skilled H4 spouses. The actual American workers who qualified gets rejected. I have seen it happen in very established companies like Deloitte, Disney, FedEx, Lexis Nexis and AAA where I have worked.
4. America is strong because the advantage of our engineering capabilities and innovations. There are so many would be engineers don't choose engineering majors anymore, because once they graduate, they can't find jobs, even if they did, the wages are so meager it's not worth the money and effort. Furthermore, It’s interesting to note that almost all the innovation comes from American workers and scientists in the field of IT. Hardly any innovation comes from the H1B or India. For all the talk of how great they in IT, it's hard to find any new technology being invented over there. Only thing they are good at is copying what we invent and offer cheap labor, and unlimited number of work hours.
In conclusion if you continue to supply H1Bs, H4 ead, and H2 temporary work visas the American engineering is going to die a slow death. And the remaining folks who want to be engineers will be frustrated and rise up at some point. We have seen in the history what happens when frustration boils over and lead to chaos, regime change even things that you don't want to witness. Hence if you care for the future of this great nation you will consider eliminating or applying restrictions and safeguards that will keep our freedom. Don't succumb to pressures from greedy organization's lobbyist. You can make a difference for you constituents and future of this nation. It is in your hands, and needs great leadership from each of you to future success of nation, and to strengthen the fabric of freedom.
