The Significant Event Tracker Bill S.2368

We support the Significant Event Tracker Bill (S.2368) to track our service-members exposure to PTS and mTBI related events, and eliminate future backlogs for treatment and compensation.

I stand behind the SET Bill S.2368 and I encourage you to do the same. This is a cost-effective tool created by an OEF combat veteran, that utilizes already available resources, logs and reports within the DOD to track and "verify" as close to real-time as possible, events that could lead to Post Traumatic Stress or mild Traumatic Brain Injuries. The benefit would be a "verified" list of events that could eliminate the "burden of proof" placed on the veteran many years after the fact at a time when they are just seeking care. The SET would support the multitude of veterans who are denied compensation and sometimes cost-free care because of no retrievable documentation of their exposure. It is cost-effective, it reduces the Stigma, it requires no additional "operational" burden on the troop, and events are more accurately verified at the time, instead of years later.
