H.R.7071 and H.R.7269

As my District Representative, I am calling on your to take action on behalf of those who are presently dying a horrific death via Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

Up until now, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis has been 100%/100% of the time. It is brutal and comes with a quick death sentence. A patient is given a 2-5 year death sentence.. With your help, we can change this horrible statistic.

ALS can now become a TREATABLE disease if these Bills are passed: H.R.7269 and H.R.7071. As a member of Congress, I am sure that you are very familiar with both Bills, therefore I will not get into great detail on their verbiage.

The purpose of this letter is to ask that you please cosponsor H.R.7071 and H.R.7269.

I realize that the Bills are with the Health Subcommittee, within the Energy and Commerce Committee. You can choose to Cosponsor either or both bills NOW to show your support for those dying from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

Together, both Bills will provide the funding and access that patients with ALS need, in order to actually THRIVE- not just survive this terrifying and cruel death sentence. There are therapies/treatments available RIGHT NOW that can give thousands of people with ALS the one simple GIFT that they no longer have: HOPE.

Please review both bills and consider becoming a cosponsor of H.R.7071 and/or H.R.7269.

BILL DETAILS:

H.R.7071 – Accelerating Access to Critical Therapies for ALS Act, will fund early access to therapies that are proven to have success through clinical trials. There are treatments out there that already work, however they are not affordable to all patients with ALS. This bill would provide funding required to make this happen.

H.R.7269 The Promising Pathways Act. This act would provide an entirely new 5th approval pathway for terminally ill patients to access new drugs within the FDA. This means that new drugs can be given to people, once safety has been established. It differs from The Accelerated Approval Act because it allows patients who are not enrolled in a drug trial the opportunity to get the drug before approval happens. This Bill would SAVE the lives of so many with ALS

Both bills are bipartisan and share the same bottom line: Saving the lives and saving them NOW.

Thank you again for your valuable time and for your consideration on becoming a Cosponsor.
