Term Limits for members of Congress

Because it is more and more evident that our Congress has been corrupted by outside influences, and that some members have served for most of their life times, and that prudence would suggest that longevity of terms has produced a non-functioning entity. Because leaving a member in their seat for so many years leaves them open to corruption and divisiveness. We the people demand that term limits be set for Congress as they have been set for our President. Accordingly, we ask that no member of the House of Representatives or the Senate be permitted to serve more than 3 terms, be they consecutive or otherwise. In addition, we request that compensation for such services be terminated 5 years after the termination of office of said members.
