Tell congress to entend Bush tax cuts for ONLY those making under $250,000!
Congress can extend Bush tax cuts for those earning under $250,000 WITHOUT extending tax cuts for the very wealthy. Tell congress to stand up and vote ONLY for an extension of tax cuts for those earning less than $250,000!
I am writing to urge you to stand up and approve ONLY the Bush tax cuts for those earning less than $250,000, and allow the tax cuts for the very wealthy to expire.
In this recession, the working and middle class families of America are suffering, and are deserving of tax relief. However, the 2% of Americans earning more than $250,000 can afford to pay the pre-Bush tax amount. Also, there is no evidence that this tax cut helps the economy, and Gallup polling has shown that a majority of Americans do not support an extension of the tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans!
Congress has two choices: extend all tax cuts, alienating the majority of Americans and adding $700 billion dollars to the deficit over 10 years, or stand up and support only the tax break for those in need: the working and middle classes.
Show us that you are not simply servants of the wealthiest and most powerful interests. This is an issue on which you can win popular support AND do the right thing, so we urge you to take a strong stance. You will find that is pays off with the American people.
