TAKE 2 to PRAY: Put Prayer Back in Our Public Schools
TAKE 2 to PRAY
This petition urges Congress to reserve the first 2 minutes of the school day for silent prayer. The U.S. Supreme Court allows for prayer in school; however there is no law that reserves time for prayer. We live in a society where school shootings occur on a regular basis, bullying has become pervasive, and there is little or no reverence for God. On January 11, 2013 an Indiana Federal Judge ruled that a prisoner known as ?The American Taliban? would be allowed to pray daily with fellow Muslim prisoners. There is something fundamentally wrong with our country when our prisoners enjoy greater religious freedom than our school children. Two minutes can change a nation. ?Take 2 to Pray?.
