Supporting marijuana prohibition equals depraved indifference!

Cannabis kills cancer, prevents seizures. Congress should not support prohibition.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The undersigned citizens of the United States respectfully request the immediate repeal of cannabis prohibition, as we believe withholding legal access to cannabis constitutes depraved indifference on your part.

Cannabis has been proven to kill cancer cells, slow tumor growth, reverse damage caused by cancer, prevent seizures in epileptics and Parkinson's patients, ease the suffering of P.T.S.D. patients (including U.S. veterans), slow the onset of Alzheimer's Disease, mitigate agony and damage caused by Crohn's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, wasting syndrome in A.I.D.S. and cancer patients, and a wide variety of other damaging and life-threatening illnesses.

We the People contend that by refusing to repeal Cannabis prohibition on the federal level - and thereby allowing individual states to ascertain their own Cannabis laws - You the Congress are guilty of depraved indifference to the suffering of your constituents.

By your own admission, we are aware that you know for a fact that Cannabis is a valuable medicine, as evidenced by US Patent 6,630,507 Cannabinoids as Antioxidants and Neuroprotectants - which states clearly:

"Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NMDA receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and HIV dementia. Nonpsychoactive cannabinoids, such as cannabidoil, are particularly advantageous to use because they avoid toxicity that is encountered with psychoactive cannabinoids at high doses useful in the method of the present invention."

According to the law:

"To constitute depraved indifference, the defendant's conduct must be 'so wanton, so deficient in a moral sense of concern, so lacking in regard for the life or lives of others, and so blameworthy as to warrant the same criminal liability as that which the law imposes upon a person who intentionally causes a crime. Depraved indifference focuses on the risk created by the defendant?s conduct, not the injuries actually resulting." - from http://definitions.uslegal.com/d/depraved-indifference/

You know Cannabis can save the lives of dying patients. You know Cannabis has medicinal value. To continue denying the American people this life-saving medication, you are blatantly letting innocent people die, even as you hold in your elected hands the power to ease their suffering and possibly extend their lives.

Please respect the wishes of the majority of U.S. voters and repeal Cannabis prohibition while respecting the Tenth Amendment of t
