Stricter laws against child molestors.

Messages Sent So Far
The mission is to create stricter laws against child predators whose only intention is to hurt children. This is for first time and repeat offenders. Every year children are victims of kidnappings, violent attacks, sexual abuse, or online predators. Predator statistics show that at least 200 million girls and 100 million boys will be sexually victimized before they reach adulthood. Only 1 in 3 people will report sexual crimes to a trusted adult. Research indicates that 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually abused before adulthood; sadly, 30-40% of these victims are abused by a family member and 50% are abused by someone outside the family whom they know and trust. Yes, there is a sex offender registry with over 747,408 registered sex offenders in the United States, but over 100,000 are lost in the system. These are just a few examples of predator statistics. The law is enacted and enforced on a state-by-state basis. In one year alone, approximately 4,300 child molesters in 15 states were released from confinement. Of the 4,300 child molesters released, approximately 3.3% were rearrested within three years for another sex offense against a child. Do you think it?s time for child molesters/predators/pedophiles to get more time for the crimes they impose on innocent children? More time in prison may save a child from falling victim to a horrific crime. Let?s make a difference! It only takes a few seconds to sign the petition in honor of our children.<br />

Why does our government continue to give these monsters a slap on the wrist? They will never be cured and they will never change. Put them in prison for life! Protect our children and bring down these scum bags.

I pray that many will fight to protect our children from child molestation by enforcing stricter penalties. We can not keep allowing this to happen. They are depending on us.

I would like to have the law granting joint custody to the person that committed rape be revisited. Why do they have any rights? The person that was raped did not chose to raise a child with this person. Especially in the case of child who was raped at the age of 12. This girl’s childhood was stolen from her. The fact that this happened to her without her consent , not just the rape , but the birth of a child at such a young age. The rapist should spend a long time in jail with no rights to the child. Four years is not long enough for this crime that has changed this child’s life forever.

If you don't vote against it, then you are for it. I work with the children who have been molested. They live in fear, nightmares, trust issues, PTSD, they suffer just like a person that was almost beaten to death. It will probably last the rest of their lives. We owe it to all the children in USA to protect them. The man in Michigan spent only 6 months in prison and almost got joint custody of the baby from the rape of the 12 year old. As soon as he got out he rapes another child. America this is a disgrace!!! All States needs laws like Florida, Montana, Louisiana, and Texas. I am glad these states protect their children. Michigan you definitely need to revisit your state laws on this.

Pedophiles steal the innocence and forever change the childs soul. We need to enforce stronger penalties. It has been studied and proven tbat they can not be rehabilated. The solution is simple. Death. Why are they only going away for a few years? Why should we pay for them to sit in prison. They are pure evil and prey on young innocent children who can not defend themselves.

Why are we allowing these people to hurt our most treasured youth. I have seen comments that this has ruined people lives when they were molested. These people deserve the death penalty it might just stop them than instead of a slap on the hand and out to hurt another child or possibly kill. Heard of that happening plenty of times they get out and do it again or worse kidnap and /or murder children. I am so damn sick of these disgusting human beings being allowed in society where we have to worry about our children. How many children need to be mentally physically abused or killed before we protect our children!!!! I am fed up it is absolutely frustrating seeing day in and out in the paper sexual predators getting less time than someone who had marijuana or stealing. Or really basically anything and getting more time than a sex offender who are the worst people alive. Start taking care of the young and give the horrible people death sentences. No way to turn these people around they are demented. They reoffend repeatedly. Save the children and get rid of the scum. Or at least give them max time and respect what that child was put through and what damage was done deserves huge repercussions for those evil people.

I think we are to have the statue of limitations extended, for instance, murder is a lifetime. Why not do it for sexual predators. I am a victim and it has destroyed my life. I want to fight for tuffer laws so this doesn't happen to anyone else

I was sexually molested by a neighbor when I was about 5 or 6 years old. I just turned 55 and I am still affected mentally and emotionally from my ordeal. It does not go away. People who molest children should never be allowed out of prison. They will continue ruining people's lives with their sick, perverted behavior until they die. Please take these crimes as seriously as you would a convicted murderer. Make child molestation a life sentence without parole. Our children deserve it.

I am fed up with constantly writing to my local congress, state, and white house on the subject of releasing KNOWN & CONVICTED child predators in our communities and letting them live within blocks of schools where children walk to & from, play, and get dropped off. Every single month there is a new predator. A new sick POS! THERE IS SCIENTIFIC PROOF THAT THESE MONSTERS DON'T CHANGE!!! THEY WILL CONTINUE TO TRY TO RAPE AND VICTIMIZE CHILDREN TILL THE DAY THEY DIE I do not believe for one second that anyone truly read my email a couple months ago. This is absolutely serious! A country that does not protect it's own children have NO FUTURE!!! Our current AZ law regarding the proximity of residence to a school is: Sex offenders convicted of dangerous crimes against children are prohibited from living within 1,000 feet of a private or public school (kindergarten through 12th grade) or a child-care facility. Violators are guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor. This does not apply to sex offenders on probation, minors or offenders living at an address before the school or child-care facility was established. | ARS 13-3727 THIS HAS TO CHANGE!!!! THIS SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED. READ MY FREAKING LETTER AND ADDRESS ME SERIOUSLY!!! No more child predators on our streets!!
