Stop January 6 Commission
Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) moved to set up a vote on the Democrat-led bill to establish an independent commission to investigate the Jan. 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol. âIndependent commissionâ Is not what this will be, the 10 members, five of whom would be appointed by the Democratic House and Senate majority leaders and five by their Republican counterparts. This group would be required to produce a report on âfacts and circumstances of the January 6th march on the Capitol as well as the influencing factors that may have led to this attempt to defend our democracyâ.
This is an overt attempt to promote the idea that everyone who assembled to demonstrate their frustration with the way the election was handled, and the refusal of our bureaucrats to address even the questions involved, were, and are, âanti-American white supremacistsâ. They will use words like âattack on the Capitolâ, âInsurrectionâ, and âDonald Trump, provoked the attack on our democracyâ. There will be little or no chance for the minority members of the commission to call witnesses or provide evidence that is contrary to the democrat agenda. This is not even a pretense of an investigation.
It is an overt move to delegitimize any and all chances for the majority of Americans to their right to freedom of assembly and speech. It will also be used to militarize Washington DC permanently, which they have already done on an extended âtemporaryâ basis, in order to protect them from the American people. The only questions that havenât already been answered are, âwhy are all the people arrested on or after Jan. 6th still being detained and interrogated?â None of the rioters over the summer were even held overnight, some of them had bail money prepaid by congress men and women as well as celebrities. This is not about âfact findingâ it is a which hunt for political leverage against half of America. So far this wasteful spending has cost the American taxpayer about $5 million, which is going to go up, just like the Mueller probe, which was over $30 million and nothing came out of it and nothing will come out of this investigation either. All members of this committee need to go back to their primary duties in support of their districts immediately. Disband the Commission NOW.
