Stop Interest on child support arrears

There is a State statue where the obligee is the only person that can stop interest assessed on arrearage child support. This interest is compounded monthly at 12 percent. I had a little over $10,000 arrearage child support in 1987 and this balance became over $100,000 because of interest. I made monthly child support payments plus some toward the arrearages, but that balance continued to grow over 15+ years because of interest. This finally went to a judgement in 2002 and to date I still owe $52,000....for $10,000 owed. My children are 39 and 34 years old. To date I have paid $67,000 in arrearage payments.

So some sort of attention should be payed to those of us that are stuck in this unfortunate circumstances I myself cannot be this only one that has fought time and time again to get some sort of help with this issue.

If this continues to just go on without any fair and just treatment to the respondent or at least get a fair in parcel hearing without a judge saying to you that this is not a matter for the courts but for the petitioner to do what she feels fit if she has any Mercy on you then she will give you a lucky break and stop the interest from accruing so much that it is out of control and they
there is no possible way back to compete the debit.
