Standardized Monthly Deductions before child support is calculated

Why should non-custodial parents be subject to unfair child support amounts just because there is no law to stop it.

Why are the Federal and State guidelines allowed to be so biased towards fathers when computing a child support amount? A lot of men are forced to lose their homes, vehicles and even children because they cannot afford to pay the extreme amount of child support ordered. I believe the Federal guidelines for figuring child support should be changed! The Department of Human Services subtracts mandatory monthly deductions before they figure a welfare benefit, so why doesn?t child support subtract standardized monthly deductions before figuring child support? Instead of figuring child support from Gross income, it should be figured by net income after subtracting child support already court ordered and standardized monthly deductions which would allow a single person to be able to afford a standard of living at poverty level. Standardized monthly deductions should include and be the amount of (for each non-custodial parent): mortgage or rent, $400; house insurance; $50; electric, $30; gas/propane, $30; water/sewer, $25; car insurance, $50; groceries, $150; household necessities, $25; telephone, $30; daycare, $50; gas/transportation $60; subsequent children .065; .097; 0122; .0137; .146; .155; .164; .173; with this $915.00 standardized monthly deduction all non-custodial parents could afford to at least enjoy a standard of living at poverty level, possibly have some money left over to see their children and do things with them, pay child support as ordered and avoid jail due to unfair child support orders. It would force more mothers to help provide for their own children instead of living off child support payments. This idea truly has the best interest of all custodial, non-custodial parents and their children in mind. My husband has a net income of $132.42 per week after he pays $258.00 per week in child support plus drives over 3 hours each way every other weekend to see his children. We depend on welfare to support the children in our household because his child support amount and unfortunately too many non-custodial parents suffer this way. Please consider making a much needed change to the Federal child support laws.
