Simple Tax Plan
The current method by which taxes are collected is archaic and only benefits those who can afford to take advantage of loopholes and the online tax preparation companies that charge for a service that should be free.
Simply put, like many other countries, every taxpayer should file their taxes via IRS.gov regardless of income. Keep it simple by standardizing the percentage of withholding based on income and do away with deductions that don't matter to most Americans.
As such, taxpayers would save the headache of jumping through hoops to file, the IRS would simplify the process and those who avoid paying taxes via inflated deductions would have to pay the same as everyone else based on what they make, not who they can hire to dodge the tax collector.
It isn't rocket science. The IRS doesn't have to chase down people cheating when everyone is paying the same rate.
