Ring the Bell of Liberty and Atonement! Liberate Our Economy and Free All Student Borrowers.
We the people of the United States of America for which this Republic stands, hereby petition for the immediate forgiveness of all higher-education debt. As of 2020 there are more than 44.7 million student borrowers.The education debt in 2020 is now a record 1.56 trillion. As of 2018, borrowers over 60 years of age owe more than $85 billion. Borrowers with an education-debt are impoverished. Debtors are isolated, anxious, and in the worst cases have taken their own lives. Some have had psychological breakdowns requiring psychiatric hospitalization due to this despotic burden.
Therefore, We the people, endorsed and ratified by the undersigned, demand with full vigor of the law, prompt forgiveness of all college loans for ALL borrowers; and
We the people strongly enjoin that representatives and the President of the United States to petition the states to make all public colleges free for American citizens; and
We the people strongly enjoin representatives and the President of the United States to establish a national public university system endowed with free education for all American citizens.
