The mandatory minimum on non-violent crimes are ridiculous. Even the sentencing judge in a particular case I am familiar with stated that it was unfair, and that hard core criminals don't even get these kind of sentences. These people are doing society no good behind bars for such long periods. This is costly to taxpayers, and that goes with out mentioning damage being done to their families. Even if there need be stipulations or guidelines regarding a parole release, there should something in place for this system.REPORT COMMENTS
