Tell your elected officials Republicans MUST work with the President

In 2008, Republicans vowed to make President Obama a one-term President, before he was even sworn into office. They deliberately obstructed every effort he made to improve the economy and promote job growth, then blamed him for it. Their actions hurt the people of this country, not the President.

The people re-elected President Obama in 2012, showing Republicans that they cannot buy or dictate who the people vote for, or want in the White House. Their vote also sent a strong message of their disgust with the Republican agenda, to cut or eliminate Social Security and Medicare benefits, that the people paid for out of every paycheck throughout their work history, in addition to other areas that target the poor and middle class, while protecting the wealthy with tax credits and loopholes.

After the 2012 election, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, said: "The voters have not endorsed the failures or excesses of the President?s first term, they have simply given him more time to finish the job they asked him to do together with a Congress that restored balance to Washington. Now it?s time for the President to propose solutions that actually have a chance of passing the Republican-controlled House of Representatives and a closely-divided Senate, step up to the plate on the challenges of the moment, and deliver in a way that he did not in his first four years in office."

We have a message for Senator McConnell and the rest of the GOP: Republicans have not restored balance in our government. President Obama clearly demonstrated his willingness to work in a bi-partisan manner with Governor Chris Christie, after Hurricane Sandy. YOU are the problem, and YOU and the GOP must work in a bi-partisan manner, "step up to the plate", and work with the President in a reasonable manner to improve the economy and job growth, without hurting the poor, the middle class, and Senior Citizens.

I am signing this petition to inform my elected officials that any actions of obstructionism, and/or filibusters, by the Republican party will no longer be tolerated, under ANY circumstances. If they continue to act with a "my way or the highway" agenda, I will vote against every Republican on the ballot in 2014, and all future elections, until they are permanently removed from office. The people have had enough of their pandering to the wealthy, at the expense of the country and everyone else!

Join together to boycott the states of Republican obstructionists such as North Carrolina's Senator Richard Burr. Send them email and call their offices letting them know you will not contribute to their states' economy with tourism dollars due to obstructionism, racism, homophobia, suppressing voter registration and voter rights.

Obstructionism is still alive, and being promised for 2017! NOT ACCEPTABLE! Wake up America, you are destroying your own country by allowing your elected politicians to over-rule the basis of our constitution. We have 3 separate powers of Government, and our founders did that for a reason. You are now trashing it by allowing, what your founding fathers tried to prevent. Congress has a job, they do not have the right to abdicate their responsibilities . PERIOD They should do their jobs, or be fired!

Republicans have allowed personal hate and dysfunctional desire to impose their small minded views onto Americans in one of the most damaging and patriarchal/tyrannist methods possible. My way or destruction is their message. In a democracy - all voices should blend and policy should care provide for the health, safety and general welfare of the public. Personal decisions over sex, religion are freedoms contained within our country's history and many Protestant's who protested the over reaching patriarchal ancestry of the Church of England. The loss of privacy, police brutality and bullying/murdering of those who are different or oppose the conservative viewpoint is poison - as Hitler's brown shirts were the beginnings of a deadly poison resulting in America joining freedom fighters in WWII. Lest we forget - a price was paid for our freedoms. Republican Corporate Power Brokers, religious fanatics (wanting to kill muslims because their christianity calls for it), bigots, hate dividers and OBSTRUCTIONISTS - have damaged America. Cantor led freshman republicans in an "obstructionist" approach which ignored America's well being and focused on power for the Republican party and those who funded it. The Obstructionists of American democracy, freedom of choice, religion, property rights, and fair dealings - have damaged America. I believe the Pope has delivered a miracle in the timing of Boehner's resignation. Repentance of hatred, unfairness, and withholding the democratic values of our country is what the entire Republican party should do. Your single focused hatred of president Obama and the nasty comments about our President have resulted in hate killings by police against people of color and women. This is not the America that brought pride and leadership to our country in the world. Stop the ignorant hate and obstructionism. Work to find solutions that make sense for all Americans. Stop violence and bullying and destructions of person's lives through litigation and unfair laws.
