Repeal the H.R. 7311 (110th): William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008

Repeal the 2008 Immigration Law Which Allows Illegal Immigrants of Non-Contiguous Countries To Stay in the US Pending an Immigration Hearing

To The Honorable United States Government Leaders,

We the undersigned ask that the United States Government Leaders completely repeal the H.R. 7311 (110th): William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008.

As I am assure you are aware, the US Border Patrol/ICE is currently obligated by the aforementioned law to hand over any illegal aliens from non-contiguous countries to the United States border to the Department of Health and Human Services, which coordinates care for them, finds them safe housing and helps advise them on their legal rights as their immigration cases are decided. These aliens are then released on their promise to appear at a future date for their immigration hearing, of which the majority simply ignore.

This "catch and release" practice of the above law is then taken as encouragement to others in the same originating countries of these offenders to illegally immigrate to the United States.

Obviously we need to show compassion for those in dire circumstances, however with our Country's economic issues and lack of resources for our own people such as the unemployed/underemployed and our Veterans Administration debacle, we can no longer afford to take in several thousand individuals who would be a drain on our current system.
