Regulate or Ban the Use of AI nationwide
With the rise of AI such as ChatGPT and Open AI, even white collar jobs are at risk of becoming obsolete, reducing human productivity and has negative implications for our economy and education. New York City has taken the correct and necessary steps by banning ChatGPT from their schools due to the risk of plagiarism. If the 118th Congress is serious about the economy and creating jobs, it must take the necessary steps to do so by drafting and passing legislation to either regulate or outlaw the use of AI in any professional or educational environment. Sooner rather than later, our government must intervene in the development and use of AI technology.
