Reduce prison time to 65% for non violent offenders

My fiance was charged with grand theft. He scored out to 20 months prison but was given five years. Why you ask because we couldn't afford a lawyer. I am on disability and he helped take care of me. I am now in a situation where I barely have food to eat and no one to help me. He sits there while people did far worse and get way less time. This is affecting families and not only the person in prison. It's time to wake up and fix this. He started a business that collapsed he got in over his head and had people not pay him and give him bad checks these people are not sitting in prison. I have never seen anything like this. We were told by multiple lawyers if we hired them he would be out within a year. So because we don't have money he sits for 5 years and our lives fall apart. He would never physically hurt anyone so he is no danger. He could have been put on house arrest or anything. Save the room in prison for the ones who should really be there. Our laws are very sad and pathetic and unfair. The only thing that matters is money. I ask for Congress to support changing law to 65% for non violent offenders. Everyone complains of the cost of everyone in prison well if this happened the cost would be cut. There are lots of people who don't belong in prison so get the ones out and cut the damn cost.
