Amend H.R. 955 and S. 452 by outlining support of Ukraine through diplomatic, humanitarian, financial, and economic means.
I am writing to urge Congress to support Ukraine with aid beyond the form of lethal weapons: assistance in the realms of diplomatic, humanitarian, financial, and economic backing. Specifically: mediation of negotiations with Russia to determine a peaceful resolution, establishment of social programs to assist families that have been displaced by tragedies of war, monetary assistance and a plan to use it effectively, and further investment in business development to support Ukraine's present and future economy.
August 24th marks Ukraine?s 24th year of independence. Let us do all that we are able to do in order to continue to support their sovereignty through peaceful means. Let us demonstrate that our powerful nation can support another country in a time of dire need without resorting to armed violence.
