Police Training
We the people of the United States of America would like to acknowledge the small amount of police training that is mandatory and the way law enforcement officers are being trained. The current police training is about nineteen weeks and should be raised to at least one year. In this one year of training, police officers are to learn more on how to deescalate conflicts instead of how to fire a weapon, what to do when you are in danger, how to apprehend someone with a weapon that is not putting you in current danger, how to immobilize a dangerous person without harming them, etcetera. Also, police officers are to be trained to use a taser instead of a firearm to lessen the yearly amount of deaths in America from 1,129 to closer to 0.
