I haven't heard anybody addressing postal mismanagement. They waste money on a daily basis making asinine decisions and they won't listen to the people who do the work. Postal management wouldn't last one day in the corporate world! Something must be done about this!! If you need specifics, please let me know, Thanks.REPORT COMMENTS

Those in the position to do great harm to the Postal Service have the burden to understand, fully, what the effects of service are and the consequences involved with the proposed scourging at the hands of HR 2309. Privatized and revocation of first class delivery standards leave the publics mail boxes open to threat from less than integritous companies and potential abuse for unwanted intrusion into peoples private lives. Deregulation or the so-called revitaliztion thats stated in this bill is tantamount to the literal opening of Pandora's box. Short sighted bandaids like HR2309 do nothing to address the burden of pre-funding of retirement for 75 years or the refusal to repay the $60 + BILLION in overpayments made by the USPS to the OPM. Where else would open abuse and blatant want for destruction of that the nation has determined year after year as the "most trusted government entity" be tolerated? Stop this bill and stop over reaching blindly!REPORT COMMENTS

What would we do without the Post Office? We, the taxpayers, do not pay for the Post Office, it is not part of the Federal Budget. It is self sustaining through our use. The Repulicans - during George Bush's reign, passed this bill to destroy the Postal Service by overburdening it with unreasonable debt. No other entity in Government has been forced to do this, not even business's are forced to do this. There are many business's that rely on the Post Office to conduct their business by being able to send their invoices to their customers, and to receive their checks from their customers, which in turn they use to pay their employees wages and keep their business open. I know, I am a small business owner. This would cause the demise of my business, and will people all over this country will lose their jobs. This HR 2309 benefits only those who sponser it, namely greedy special interest just salivating at the idea of making money. This will not benefit America at all! Please don't let this happen. Thank you.REPORT COMMENTS

I hope this doesn't happen Gordon Lightfoot Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald Wreck Of The U.S. Postal Service Our Postal Service was founded in 1775 with Benjamin Franklin being our first Post Master. The Postal Service is in trouble because of a 2006- law that requires the Postal Service to pre-fund the cost of retiree?s benefits for the next 75 years in 10 years time. No other company or agency in America is required to do this. In June 2011 legislation was introduced which will be the Wisconsin of the Postal Service if it becomes law. It will dismantle collective bargaining and forbid payment of severance pay to retirement-eligible employees. And reduce delivery services and close plants and post offices. Another bill which would prevent the financial collapse of the USPS ? without closing thousands of post offices, eliminating hundreds of mail processing facilities, delaying mail delivery, laying off 120,000 workers, cutting postal workers? pay, or ending collective bargaining rights. We are in the fight of our lives but people have voted wrong for too long and done nothing to help preserve their jobs over the years. People tell me it doesn?t matter what we do as we are doomed anyway. Their mind is made up even before the studies are done. All we can do is say we went down trying to keep our Eagle from drowning to keep service for the American people and jobs and benefits for the workers. Many people will never give up until all services that help us including the Postal Service are bled and dead. Common sense is not in the makeup to improve the economy, only the rich get richer and the poor poorer. Private companies will not deliver to the rural areas or inner cities and the elderly will not get their medications. We will have a museum of our defunct Postal Service.REPORT COMMENTS
