Please Legally Reinstate Prayer in Schools, Colleges and Universities Nationwide

In wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary shootings in Connecticut, we desperately need prayer in our schools.

This petition letter is to express the importance of the idea that the Obama Administration should strongly consider reinstating prayer in all public, private and charter schools, colleges and universities in wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary massacre in Newtown, Connecticut on December 14, 2002. A day is likely the saddest since the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton, Colorado on April 20, 1999. Far too often, our youth is destroyed by gun violence. And tragedies like these are becoming far too common. As politician and concerned American, parent and human being, have you ever considered the possibility of a link between these tragedies and the lack of prayer in schools?

Special consideration should also be taken to reinstate "The Pledge of Allegiance" in our schools as well. Such reinstatements such also be accompanied by rules and classes to promote and encourage cultural and religious tolerance in schools. This is "one nation under God", so we need to show that faith. Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Jewish, it doesn't matter. We all need time during classes to talk to God. John 3:16 in the King James Holy Bible reads: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

For some of us, prayer is desperately needed in schools. Gun control may not be enough if we don't take control of our minds and hearts, spiritually speaking. We also need schools to educate and teach students social, cultural and religious tolerance, so that no one belief is violated nor compromised.

Hatred is never the answer, and these children did absolutely nothing to the gunman, 20 year old Adam Lanza, for him to shoot and kill them. Gun violence is killing our children and it's gonna take a lot more than tougher gun control laws to combat such issues. Exodus 20:13 in the King James Holy Bible reads: "Thou shalt not kill." Prayer in schools may also help combat bullying in schools. Matthew 5:43-45 in the King James Holy Bible reads: "Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust."

While it is debatable whether or not the increase in gun violence in public places is coincidentally attributable to the lack of public prayer and social, cultural and religious tolerance in such places, it is surely something that needs serious discussion. Please consider this petition, the letters and the concerns expressed in an explicitly serious and robustly sincere manner. Thank you again and God bless you all!!!
