Petition to U.S. Congress for Investigation of Minutemen

In memory of Brisenia Flores and her father, Raul, murdered May 30, 2009 in an Arivaca, Arizona home invasion...

FORMAL PETITION TO U.S. CONGRESS

TO THE DISTINGUISHED MEMBERS OF THE SENATE AND HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

INTERNET MECHA formally requests a full-scale Congressional investigation into the overt and covert activities of the Minutemen and related vigilante groups in the United States of America including their overall involvement in the May 30, 2009 ?home invasion? resulting in the murders of Brisenia Flores, age 9 and her father Raul in Arivaca, Arizona.

INTERNET MECHA urges Congress to initiate this immediate investigation into the activities of these vigilante groups, and their relationships with government officials, in order to ensure Latinos in the U.S. that we are safe and secure in our homes, schools, communities and workplaces.

There are numerous Minutemen organizations across our nation actively and aggressively promoting racial hatred and hostilities if not outright violence against Latinos in the U.S. Several local, state and federal officials including former Representative Tom Tancredo have praised these armed and sometimes dangerous vigilantes whose primary mission seems to be to ?kick Mexicans out of the U.S.?

Other Latinos are publicly attacked in similar fashion, as if all our People are ?enemies? of the U.S. It was only a matter of time before some of these heavily armed groups and(or) individual Minutemen members would resort to ?vigilante justice,? to the extent innocent Latinos would be murdered, as occurred in Arivaca, Arizona, May 30, 2009.

Despite ?hate crime? laws enacted across the nation, there are numerous cases where Mexicans and other Latinos were murdered and(or) brutally assaulted due to their heritage and(or)color of skin. INTERNET MECHA believes the Minutemen and their supporters in local, state and federal government are fomenting this violence and other crimes against Latinos in the U.S. by intent or design much like public officials used the KKK to keep freed African-Americans ?in their place? in the South after the Civil War.

Today, Minutemen vigilantes and their affiliates are clearly targeting Latinos much like the KKK targeted African-Americans in the past. Shawna Forde, a Minutemen leader and two of her associates, Jason Bush and Albert Gaxiola, are accused of crossing state lines, to commit the heinous May 30 crimes in Arivaca, and perhaps other violent crimes along the way, according to Arizona detectives who claim there are still other suspects at-large.

The San Diego Minutemen claim Shawna Forde?s Washington organization is also supported by Jim Gilchrist of the National Minutemen Project. There was clearly a conspiracy to murder Raul Flores and his family in Arivaca, and there may well be a much larger conspiracy to murder more Latinos by these vigilantes and(or) their affiliates.

Please hold open hearings to shed more light on these vigilante groups as soon as possible.
