Petition against the COVID-19 Vaccine Mandation placed on Long Term Care Settings.

Petition against the COVID-19 Vaccine Mandation placed on Long Term Care Settings.

We the undersigned are committed to providing quality care to the Long term care Resident. We find the CMS enacted Vaccine Manadation restriction placed on the Long term Care facility jeopardizes all Long Term Care facilities and further jeopardizes the whole healthcare industry.
We the “Heathcare Heros” of yesterday both Covid-19 vaccinated and unvaccinated have seen the ravages of COVID in our Residents and their families. We have seen brave healthcare worker risking their lives and the lives of their families to continue to pursue their calling for taking care of long term care Residents. We have shown a commitment towards their health and wellbeing by risking it all.
We are now forced to receive the vaccine against our personal judgement. Many of us are vaccinated on our own accord and consent. Many unvaccinated Staff will not be vaccinated per their personal reasons and conscience and be forced to leave the bedside without a caregiver. Medical and religious exemptions are allowed in only very specific situations.
We are deeply troubled by the effects of losing Staff both for those leaving the industry and those left at the facility trying to continue to provide quality care with less staff. The effects of losing staff in facilities with marginal staffing already has far reaching consequences beyond the long-term care facility. As a facility we will be unable to provide quality care for our existing residents and be unable to admit new residents from the hospital and community causing a back log of hospital beds and community healthcare needs.

We the undersigned are requesting that the CMS repeal the Vaccine Mandation and look towards other means to keep residents safe in long term care setting safe. This may include utilizing continued testing and additional source control PPE .
Please act urgently to save our facilities and allow our Long Term Residents to continue to receive adequate care.
Thank you.
