Pass the S-.535 - Global War on Terrorism Memorial Location Act

The S-.535 - Global War on Terrorism Memorial Location Act will allow a memorial to be built on the National Mall in DC, alongside the other memorials honoring those who served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. The Global War on Terrorism Memorial will be a lasting tribute to the courage and sacrifice of all who have served, and especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, in the nation’s longest ongoing conflict. The memorial will recognize the service and sacrifice of not only the members of the military but also the countless civilians, family members and others in the fight to keep our country safe. It will memorialize the longest war in US history and provide a focal point for the nation's continued recognition of an all-volunteer force and those who gave their lives to serve and protect all Americans.
The fallen and those who served with them deserve a site on the National Mall that will be a place of honor and remembrance now and for future generations. The WWII memorial, the Korean War memorial and the Vietnam memorial took many long years to complete. The GWOT was a 20 year war and we must not wait another 20 years for this memorial to be completed.
The vote to pass the bill must be unanimous and Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia is the only senator opposed to it. Please support the bill and let Senator Manchin he must not stand in the way of making this memorial a reality!
