Parents of Angel Babies Deserve Choices
Help support grieving parents who have suffered the loss of a child.
Losing a child is something a parent never wants experience. Unfortunately so many parents do. For those who have to endure the loss of a baby through a tragic miscarriage there is often no grief support. Many parents lose a baby during the first trimester of pregnancy and are not given an option as to what happens to their babies remains. For many the thought of their child being disposed of as medical waste is unbearable yet unavoidable. For those parents they not only get no closure but they have to live with the thought of their babies remaines being thrown away, or in some cases flushed away. That is a very traumatic memory that adds to the trauma of miscarriage. It is my opinion that these parents and their precious babies regardless of gestation (a person is a person no matter how small) deserve the same choices any other parent has when it comes to the unfortunate loss of a child. Parents of miscarried little babies should be offered counseling at the hospital, and they should be given the option of burial, cremation, or that of allowing the hospital to take care of the remains. While I undetstand that in some cases, through natural causes, there are no remains, ALL parents should at least be given counseling and the choice to have a memorial service. Please make it possible for parents of angel babies to receive support/closure in a devastating time in their life.
