National Defense Authorization Act

I have actually read S.1867.ES and see that it does not adversly affect American citizens or lawfull resident aliens

Unlike many who has been calling to stand up against the bill, I have actually read the bill. I acknowledge that in its entirety all statements that refer to military detainment does not apply to any American citizen or even legal aliens as far as it is permitted within the constitution.

I also appreciate the specificity of those that the bill targets for detainment, as the bill does not use the broader term "terrorist", but rather it refers to "A person who was a part of or substantially supported al-Qaeda, the Taliban, or associated forces that are engaged in hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners, including any person who has committed a belligerent act or has directly supported such hostilities in aid of such enemy forces." (SEC. 1031 (b))

I also appreciate the fact that it specifically targets the perpetrators of the terrible events that occurred on 9/11/2001 on US soil, thereby targeting the enemy forces that used the US as a battleground.(SEC. 1031 (b))

More importantly, the bill directly acknowledges the rights of UNITED STATES CITIZENS and LAWFUL RESIDENT ALIENS (SEC. 1032. (b)). Having this supersede the entire bill is most important, because preservation of the constitution should be every American's top priority, even in our darkest hour.
