Medicinal opioids - They work as intended

The opioid crisis has taken many lives and continues to do so for those with chronic pain. But what do individuals with chronic pain do when the U.S. government scares and deters doctors from prescribing opiates? The answer is: the patient suffers from neglect, plain and simple. Sadly, this fiasco over opiates has turned into a medicinal witch-hunt. The CDC guidelines have been interpreted by many doctors as a "do what we say and suggest" or risk losing your license.

The CDC should be held accountable for medical negligence and reckless endangerment. The CDC has used coercion as a means to quickly limit the use of opioids for pain. It's an unjust and negligent way to leave a patient questioning his or her state of care.
