Max wait time for employment based green card

Even if HR 1044 becomes a law, this will still mean that EB2 backlog will take 15-20 years to clear. EB-3 will take more than 10 years to clear.

We need a maximum wait time rule for employment based green cards. We cannot take the long wait times anymore.

The max wait time should not be more than 6 years from when an H-1B visa is first issued. After 2 terms of 3 years, totalling the 6 years limit for H-1B have passed, the visa should automatically adjust status to a green card.

All processes for the PERM process should begin latest by the 3rd year, and at the end of the 6th year, the I-485 should be submitted and promptly processed to get the green card.

Anyone today who has waited for than 6 years, should be adjusted to green card status immediately. Anyone today who has waited more than 3 years should have their PERM process immediately.

There should be no upper limit to the number of employment based green cards issued in any year. There should be no country quotas either.
