It should be illegal for police to shoot our pets if they are on their own property. There has to be other ways to avoid killing our pets when police are running after criminals. It's just wrong!! -

I want to also acknowledge the heroic acts performed by some of our police officers, but there have been far too many shootings of companion animals, some obviously just for kicks, as in the case where a police officer shot 5 kittens while the little girl of the family watched. It is sickening how many dogs are being killed by the police. If these cops are that trigger happy and/or that afraid, maybe they have the wrong job. I have read so many stories of cops jumping into someones yard and seeing a barking dog or just a dog standing there, and blowing the poor thing away. The police are entering the dog's homes and killing them because they figure they won't have to answer to anyone for their actions. It's a terrible way to run a police department.REPORT COMMENTS
