Make harassment of the mentally ill a hate crime
This is a petition that calls on Congress to make the harassment of the mentally ill a hate crime.
One of the biggest reasons people refuse seeking treatment is because of stigma. I've been living with bipolar disorder for 25 years so I should know. Making fun of the mentally ill only fuels that stigma. If we can't educate the public on stigma then lets force them to comply. Enough is enough.
