Make America Safe- Say Yes to Gun Control!
The easy ability to acquire a gun in America has led to so many unnecessary tragedies of innocent citizens and is far more common than it should be.
This issue was first brought to light when the shooting of Sandy Hook on December 14th, 2012 and people really began to start speaking out about Gun Control. The citizens of the United States were promised that nothing like this would never happen again, however since then 998 mass shootings have occurred in the United States. I was inspired to write this petition after hearing about the horrific death of 50 people in a gay bar in Orlando. After hearing about this I decided to look up some statistics, Canada has instituted regulation over guns and have had 8 mass shootings in the past 20 years, the U.S. has had 7 in the past week. As a student I am genuinely concerned about peoples possession of guns and the frightening growth of the amount of school shootings. Please support this petition for at the very least gun regulation but hopefully one day the ban of guns as a whole in the United States for ordinary citizens.
