Limiting Government Assistance
Government assistance is an aid supposed to be used when people need help and never used as a way of life.
For the government to offer assistance to people in their time of need is honestly a blessing. However, people are getting used to the fact that if they have children they can apply for assistance. The problem with this is once their on assistance there isn't any force applied to them getting off the assistance. I'm asking that we figure out a reasonable time limit for people to be aloud to use the assistance programs. I also think that once this limit is reached that there is also a limit put on how long they have to wait to reapply. How would you react to someone telling you we will help you for this amount of time then you're on your own? Would you sit back and wait until that time comes and say now what? I'm sure that most people would stand up and find their way. It's far to easy to live off of assistance and never apply you're self. People are figuring out that assistance can be used as a way of life instead of an aid used to help in times of need. I believe that setting limits to these programs or in forcing people to apply their selves would make a big difference. This in turn would push people who use the assistance to apply or be cut off, and also insure that the funding for these programs are reserved for the people who really need them. I as a assistance user hoping to get off assistance write this petition knowing that It could also hurt me in the long run, however it's a huge problem that continues to grow and needs to be given a lot of thought. It's time America says where here to help not take advantage of.
