Susie's Rule
I was held hostage, grazed by bullets and then trapped in a burning building to die by a man that was on mental disability and actively seeing a psychiatrist weekly for his history of baker acts. I had a restraining order (they took his guns) that was eventually changed over to a NO CONTACT order with the same conditions - NO GUNS. He asked for his guns back during this change and the judge handed them over. Shortly after, he commited his crime/suicide. I would like for this petition to have our system VET the situation at hand before handing guns back. A waiting period to investigate other open cases etc. The judge only saw the original restraining order ending. HE NEVER LOOKED TO SEE IF THERE WAS A NEW ORDER or other conditions. in this case there WAS in the form of no contact with the same rules.
