Involuntary Medical Discharge with Severance Pay to Military Personnel

Military personnel and veterans need your help

Dear Congressman John McCain and Jeff Flake,

We demand that Congress investigate the process of the military Involuntary discharging military personnel with severance pay and 10%, leaving them with nothing in return for their services to our country. In this process these same military personnel who will become veterans need to depend on the VA Medical System for medical care. Within this process these same veterans must repay 100% of the severance pay to the VA System before medical care is rendered. It takes up to 12 years to repay the funds that were given to military personnel for serving their country. We ask why these military personnel didn't receive a proper military rating of at least 30% or more. This is unjust to all those who have served this country only to be released without receiving any lifetime contribution from the military. You Sir Mr. McCain should understand this more than anyone as you are receiving 100% compensation for your disabilities. Could you imagine after you returned from war as a POW the military Involuntary separated you with 10% and severance pay. We demand an answer and more importantly we demand a change to the way the military does business. The process of an involuntary discharge is a dishonor to all military personnel and it is definitely felt at the VA level. Military personnel who served 10 years on active duty should receive a full retirement of 30% to 50% if medical issues are the reason for a discharge. If the process is going to be an Involuntary discharge then give the military personnel the option to receive a full retirement if they cannot meet military standards due to medical reasons. Please have the military change the way they treat their military personnel who will soon become veterans. Additionally, take care of those veterans who have fallen victim to this insensitive process. We look to hear from both senators in the near future on these matters.

Sincerely,
