Improving pell grants
Improve the Pell grant program by repealing the Education Consolidation Appropriation Act of 2012 that reduced the lifetime Pell Grant eligibility.
Dear members of Congress,
I ask you to draft legislation to repeal the lifetime Pell Grant Eligibility that set the number of semesters one could receive a pell grant from 18 semesters to 12. I ask that you increase the lifetime eligibility of the pell grant from 12 semesters back to 18 semesters as outlined in the 1965 Higher Education Act for the sake of college students. I also ask that the Pell Grant be increased to $3400 per semester by cutting several billion dollars of waste, fraud and abuse from the budget by first and formost, repealing Obamacare. This is the only way us college students can get the grants we so need. I also ask that a 2% increase in the Pell Grant occur every year by cutting other government programs that aren't working or effective.
