I'M EXHAUSTED!
Let Obama know that you are tired of defending him, his administration, and his mantle of change.
Many of us hold the same sentiments as the lady at the town hall meeting who announced she is fed up with Obama, and his politics. We would like him to know that she is not alone in her feelings. Obviously her point did not get across. Ask him why 43 million Americans will be subsiding on Food Stamps by 2011 and food pantries for the impoverished are empty.
Ask him why the rate of calls to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline has increased by half since his election. Are we becoming a nation of lemmings? We may never know the effect his time in office has had on the actual suicide rate for years to come.
Ask Obama why The Census Bureau reports that America suffers with more people in poverty now than ever before in its history of reporting on poverty -- 44 million. Ask him why the "Depression" continues for African Americans with a 16.1% unemployment rate, and a 12.4% rate for Hispanics. Ask Obama why the unemployment numbers the government produces are unrealistic. Ask him why they do not count those who have exhausted their benefits, are still out of work and have simply given up.
The real unemployment rate
The media and most politicians say the rate stands at 9.6% for September. The U3 rate is the best case scenario when it comes to reporting unemployment because it doesn?t include marginally attached (those who have stopped looking for work for a specific period of time) and the underemployed (those that are working part-time, but want full-time work.
When both discouraged workers and the underemployed are considered in the unemployment rate, you end up with the U6 rate, or the ?real? unemployment rate. That rate increased from 16.7% to 17.1% in September. The jobless rate for those over 50 is higher and older workers cannot compete in spite of their experience. For the government and media to quote the actual number would cause a widespred panic but does that mean Americans do not deserve the truth? Ask Obama to get a grip, and stop passing the buck. Let him know that being President means standing up and owning it whether he created this mess or not. It is now in his lap and laying blame does not fix anything.
