H.R.3071 -- Presidential Records Act Amendments of 2011 (Introduced in House - IH)

VOTE NO TO MAKING PRESIDENT OBAMA'S DOCUMENTS SECRET AFTER HE LEAVES OFFICE

I cannot remember a more polarizing President in my lifetime and have a serious problem with Congress passing a bill to keep President Obama's records secret after he leaves office.

First and foremost is the PROMISE by President Obama to run the most transparent administration in Presidential history which has turned out to be a falsehood.

Secondly, Obama revoked a similar George W. Bush order in one of his first official acts as president. In 2001 Bush penned an executive order severely limiting public access to his presidential records. Shortly after swearing in, Obama killed it as part of his much-ballyhooed commitment to government transparency. At the time, the new president claimed that he was giving the American people greater access to ?historic documents.?

So why in the world would we afford him secrecy and privacy that he himself would not afford a fellow President?

The American people already have a lot of problems with President Obama, his secret dealings and backdoor deals and we have the right as Citizens of the United States to any and all records as we are looking forward to obtaining every document that we possibly can.

I respectfully request that you vote against H.R.3071 -- Presidential Records Act Amendments of 2011 (Introduced in House - IH), as well as any and all subsequent bills that grant this secrecy to President Obama that may be brought before Congress.
