HOA Removal

I feel it is against our constitutional rights and American dreams to have the abuse of power that has been used by HOA’S nationally. My own HOA community over the last few years sends me a letter when I have a weed, when my garage was open, when my trash cans went out too soon, and when my Gardner cut my tree in the winter (pruning.) It hadn’t fully grown back by Spring. I received a letter that I needed to replace the tree with a faster-growing -tree from the “list of trees approved”.

The original tree that I had was on this “approved list”. I cannot control the weather. This years weather has been extreme! I had to pay $400 for a new tree, $200 for removal, and $200 for planting. If I didn’t switch the tree, I was notified that I would have a $50 fine weekly until changed starting from when the issue was found back in January. It was the end of March by now. (There was a hearing on this issue of my tree that hasn’t grown yet to their desired liking. This was their resolution to this matter.) There are many hearings with this HOA that take place. I’ve had several invites to speak about a weed found, why my garage door was open, and why I placed my trash cans out before Saturday. I was at work these times. Sorry, just could’t make it!

My HOA’S have a rule to not place trash cans out before pick up day. The only opportunity is once a week and on a Saturday. Many people leave town for the weekend or mid- week. They aren’t going to miss their one chance on Saturday’s to rid of their garbage. So, we leave it out early if we are going out of town. This is not accepted. You will receive a written notice!

Since I’m speaking of the trash can subject, you cannot have your cans visible at any time accept trash day. I live in a desert. It’s in the high nineties in mid October here. In the beginning we left the cans in the garage. The smell became overwhelming. We now leave it on the side of the house and don’t care if they send a written letter at this point.

Many people have more than one HOA. We have two. Some have three. We have the neighborhood association and the main association.

You may ask why do I stay? I’m selling early 2024. Since Covid I’ve had a sick mother, I was laid off “twice within a year” when I previously had a corporate position with a company for 11 years. I was hired by two other corporations between 2012-2022 and then laid off. I now was hired in a senior level position after 4 months off.

I’ve also called the HOA for side walk cleaning and they said that they only do the the streets. I had one neighbor who rented out the home next to me and had changed out several renters who party all night playing music like it’s a nightclub until 5 am. My HOAS stated that they don’t take care of that either. (We have security 24/7 roaming the neighborhoods.) I later learned that security were violation spies trying to find something to fine us for.

Most Las Vegas nice neighborhoods have an HOA. I will never buy a home again after setting in 2024 if it has an HOA. I will rent.
