Help for Veterans in need of housing.

There is an epidemic of homelessness among our veteran population, and it could be greatly helped with a few simple acts from our government.

Nearly 20% of the homeless population in America are veterans and about 1.5 million veterans are at risk of becoming homeless.

Though they have served our county, and have returned home many veterans struggle to achieve a normal life, and create a steady income. Housing is the base for a successful, safe and healthy life; but many veterans have few civilian occupational skills and are left without even a home to rely on.

Proposition: Give tax breaks to those who give housing to veterans in or near homelessness. Enable a plan for landlords who give free or extremely low cost housing to qualified veterans to have costs refunded to them in the form of tax deductions.

This plan will allow homeless and near homeless veterans to have reliable housing with no loss of profit from the owner of the property.
