Help us stop the Speedboats on French Broad River

The Army Corps of Engineers is issuing a permit for a Speedboat Dock on the French Broad River without allowing a public preliminary hearing as called for by Fedral Law and requested by the local citizens and elected county, city and state representa

A permit is being issued by the Army Corp of Engineers on the French Broad River in Sevierville Tennessee. A local resort has requested the permit to operate high speed, 450 hp jet boats on the river that will be devastating to the river environment and the local economy and culture. Federal law requires the Corps to provide a preliminary hearing, but are refusing. Our elected County, City and State representatives have opposed this permit in writing. This operation will put an unnecessary burden on the local resources and environment. This permit is being issued without any oversight and management by the Federal Government. We are asking or our elected congressional representatives, Bob Corker and Phil Roe to assist us to determine if the actions by the Corps of Engineers is federal government overreach and in the best interest of the citizens and environment.
