Health insurance coverage of all \"medical Foods\" and other treatments of Fatty Acid Oxidation Disorders
Medical foods are medically necessary for people with these disorders to live healthy lives
People living with these inborn error of metabolism disorders depend on these treatments to live healthy lives to the best of their abilities. Without these treatments people with these disorders have lasting disabilities and at worst death. We have come a long way with newborn screening but without treatment being covered it is an additional hardship on families that causes additional stress when caring for an ill family member. Please support insurance companies state to state mandated coverage of medical foods and other necessary treatments for people of all ages.
